I guess everybody knows Shancho's "Chase Vampire", well this is the rhythm album. Its not clear when it was recorded, in 1987 or 1990, personnaly I guess it's from 1987.
It's strange to me that this tough rhythm isn't versioned more, Jammy has a few tunes (W. Smith - "Granny" & L. Smart - "Cream Of the Crop") and Penthouse has some...
Nice one !

ReplyDeletewitty has some tunes too.
ReplyDeleteThe two Colonel Lloydie tracks really stand out on this album. When listening I thought to myself, his voice sounds a lot like General Pecos, and I am guessing its him. General Pecos' real name is 'Lloyd' George Anderson and Pecos says on his Myspace that he did his first album with Ikus in 1987. There is an Ikus album called "DJ Col. Lloydie says Tender Touch" (IK LP 001). Given that Tender Touch is one of the tracks on the Chase Vampire album, I would say that 1987 is the right year :)
ReplyDeleteCorrection! Colonel Lloydie is someone different, on his Myspace (colonellloydiemusic) he says these tunes were recorded in 1990.
